The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks, by E. Lockhart, is a book that I have been wanting to read for the past couple of years. It is evident why it won the esteemed Printz Honor Book Award and National Book Award Finalist. Frankie Landau-Banks has changed a lot physically over the past school year. She’s finally grown into a statuesque sophomore at the prestigious Alabaster Preparatory Academy. Frankie gets an invitation to go to a party with gorgeous senior Matthew Livingston. As their relationship develops, unbeknownst to him, she observes meetings of an all-male secret society lead by Matthew and his friend, Alpha. She uses her cleverness to secretly become the leader of various pranks performed by members of the society…they think that Alpha is the one directing them. Ultimately, she would like credit for being smarter than the boys involved in this elite society; hence, continues to increase the risks she takes.
